About

> Who?

> Me? Will Hinchman. Software engineer, Hardware alchemist, Racecar enthusiast. I've spent decades working across multiple industries in a multitude of roles: mechanical and electrical engineering, software development, industrial design, fabrication, and machining. 217 Industries is the umbrella for everything that doesn't fit neatly into a job description.

> Why?

> i've been meaning to collect my hodge-podge collection of thoughts, writing, and projects(personal, consulting and ongoing) somewhere, and TBH, i don’t love the idea of being “internet famous”. of course, at the same time, it’s hard to do anything meaningful these days without becoming a BRAND. my hope is that this affords me at least a half-step of separation between my actual personhood and my online persona.

> Where?

> Somewhere in the post-industrial wasteland of middle America's rust belt.

> What?

> Coming soon: Reverse engineering 90s tech, restoring old hardware, and building more things that probably shouldn't exist. Musings on engineering, design, and the occasional rant about the state of the world. Stay tuned.
